Funky Frum: Aimed at conservative Jews
Marabo: For Muslim women
Modest by Design: Formal wear; tagline is “Clothing your father would approve of.”
Shade: Aimed at Mormons
These could be useful in all kinds of ways–for instance, is it necessarily oppressive to dress “modestly”? Is there a difference in the tone of these websites (i.e., providing choice vs. “clothing your father would approve of”)? Do we view the website aimed at Muslim women differently than the others?

The clothing on these sites is lovely. I don't think a woman would necessarily stand out as a religious conservative in the styles shown. I was delightfully surprised by this, since my only previous exposure to a niche site for modest apparel was this: www.wholesomewear.com

Yeah, I actually thought some of the clothes on them were really nice. I loved the tunics on the Muslim page.

I agree with the above commenters. Proof I need to get out more.

I make my living in the modest clothing retail niche, and I don't even sell anything ;) I run the Modest Clothing Directory which is a directory of stores that sell modest clothing online.
There are hundreds, if not thousands, of modest dressers speaking up at every opportunity they get to inform the general public that wearing modest clothing is not oppressive. It's frustrating to us that the general population would come up with such a label.
Food for Thought: It would be oppressive if we were not allowed to wear modest clothing.

I think it's interesting that modest clothing doesn't always translate between religions or even regions. In some regions Muslim women have a totally different definition of modesty then others.
As for other resources, Beautifullymodest does modest dresses aimed at LDS women. I think it translates well to other religions but they definitly don't have any Hijab!

You mean "orthodox jews" - not conservative jews.

This is my third time ordering from you. I love the shirts. Nothing is better than a custom fit, especially for a guy as big as me. It’s nice to have clothes that fit well and more importantly, fit the way I like them.
The other reason for picking your site was the ease of ordering and the great selection of fabrics.”
