How would the football coach number change if they actually used the median like all the administrative salaries instead of taking the obviously skewed average?
Some schools like Notre Dame having exceedingly high salaries for football coaches that heavily affect the average, but most schools don't have huge profit generating football programs. I'd imagine they are vastly outnumbered by schools like NJIT or UC Irvine who aren't giving their football coaches 7 figure salaries, and using the median would undo the heavy skewing of the few division I programs that generate revenue for the school
That's seven-year-old data. It is worse now, I believe.
And this is why college sports programs need to go the way of the dinosaurs.
