Elizabeth Dole (R) is running for Senate against Kay Hagen (D) in North Carolina. In the campaign ad below, Dole’s argument against electing Hagen is that she is supported by “Godless Americans” who believe in the separation of church and state. It is a nice example of the demonization of athiests (which, as we have seen, exceeds even the demonization of Muslims these days). (If the video doesn’t embed, click here.)

While I agree that this ad plays to the demonization of atheists, which is obviously horrible. I think its important to provide a little more context for this ad, least some googler stumbles here.
News & Observer notes that Hagan is "a Sunday school teacher and elder at her Presbyterian church in Greensboro" and that, "the ad's ending, which shows Hagan's photo but uses another woman's voice saying, "There is no God."" To be clear, these are the paper's claims, and not simply Hagan's defense.

I'm assuming that Dole had all her campaign donations blessed by a priest or something so they wouldn't be godless?

Let a Catholic bless her funds? I doubt it. They're as bad as the godless athiests as far as some fundies are concerned.
