I'm sure that this is true. It's essentially an amphetamine
Just found this while prepping lectures. This isn't surprising at all. There's a long history of psychiatry medicalizing the mother for things that we would now consider "adhd" - http://nodeadbeetles.files.wordpress.com/2012/04/vintage-meprospan-ad.jpg and especially http://weirdvintage.tumblr.com/post/42028602069/1956-serpasil-ad are two ads where the mom is the one who needs help. But today, I could easily see the serpasil ad targeting ADHD, with only some changes to the text.
I'm sure that this is true. It's essentially an amphetamine happy wheels
