This just in: You and your same-sex partner can get married in Connecticut as well as Massachusetts and California. I hear wedding bells from a whole state away.
(Thanks to Virginia for the heads up.)

That's great! Eventually maybe this kind of ruling will make WA State's Supreme Court re-visit its ruling on same-sex marriage from a few years ago that, in its opening statement, explained the state's marriage law was enacted to "PROMOTE PROCREATION and to ENCOURAGE STABLE FAMILIES."
This argument sets back all women's rights gains in a stunning way. And it makes marriage equality an important issue for any feminist... Thanks for fighting the good fight for the whole sisterhood!

You have no idea the smile across my face when I saw this Breaking News headline across the New York Times website. As a native of CT (who often tries to disclaim this in favor of my current New York-ness) I have to say that my state's done me proud!!
Girl w/ Pen, founded by Deborah Siegel, publicly and passionately dispels modern myths concerning gender, encouraging other feminist scholars, writers, and thinkers to do the same.
The views expressed in posts are those of the columnists and do not represent Girl w/ Pen at large.
