I am pursuing a PhD in Sociology at the University of Minnesota, where I am currently honing a smorgasbord of interests into the semblance of a dissertation topic. Among other things, I research the pressures toward nonprofit professionalization experienced by radical grassroots groups, such as harm reduction needle exchanges and sex worker outreach organizations, as well as health care for undocumented immigrants with chronic medical conditions, such as paralysis and coma.

I teach Sociology at St. Catherine University in St. Paul and work as a research assistant on the Flexible Work and Well-Being project of the Work, Family, and Health Network. In my spare time, I write grants for local nonprofits.
