The chart begs lots of questions...I think what is probably more important than where. I have seen research that suggests that persons of color are less likely to major in engineering and the sciences. But I've also seen work that suggests that these areas aren't particularly doing the bulk of hiring during this recession, so I'm not sure how that all shakes out. Either way, it does merit more investigating.
