What does the white space represent? For example Russia has some white space, and the numbers don't add up to 100.

It's fascinating how close public opinion in the US and Mexico is, considering that abortion is illegal almost everywhere in Mexico, and legal and (theoretically) available in the US. It sort of goes to show that a snapshot of public opinion isn't always reflected in law or policy.

Also interesting is the fact that the countries that show the highest proportion of support for punitive measures to be used in preventing abortion are also countries where women have the fewest rights/are treated to heightened numbers of gendered hate crimes.
And some people still say it's not about women's rights, it's about the rights of the 'unborn'.

Wow, that's some amazing input you have on the topic Carla. My world view is changed.
Algae, I also found it interesting that in the Ukraine and/or Poland where abortion is pretty much completely outlawed (I can't remember which or if it's both countries) the majority of people believe it's a personal decision.

Lisa, is there any way we could see this information along with the legality of abortions in those countries, or with the number of abortions performed annually?

Why for the love of FSM is Australia not included? There's been movement there recently, but as far as you people are concerned it's dropped off the earth. Fail.
