I'm so used to Photoshop and its predecessors, cheesecloth et al, that untouched pics would almost look unnatural to me in a professional image. I think the aging rockers got it right; they're ugly and proud of it!
But better than photo-perfection is the attitude. The first model in the purple top looks bored. Nitrogirl is downright scary. And George, who regardless of gender doesn't look at all out of place being the only man in a thread like this, still needs a shave. We're entering the post-stubble era George, hello?
Bottom line, before we start point the finger at these women or the companies developing the images: They do it because it sells. They're just meeting the demand. To understand the phenomena, study the consumer.
