As a person who is married to an asian woman (the first asian person I ever dated), I'd like to say that posts like this stigmatize our love. We are very aware that the "asian fetish" stereotypes exist, but I am disappointed that a page I respect would perpetuate race-based stereotypes like this.
She is an intelligent, highly educated person with whom I have much in common, not a "fetish." Whether there are men who truly have an asian fetish or not, this is, at best, a stereotype based in truth (and what stereotypes are groundless?). At worst it is a straw man argument, meant to condemn the white man (who I don't deny often needs condemning), but is, simultaneously, another in a long line of attacks on interracial relationships.
Until we understand how romantic attraction "works," can we maybe hold off on repeating racial stereotypes like this? I would say the same thing to a group of white men stereotyping white women who date people of other races rather than a group of mostly white women stereotyping white men who do the same. In both cases, the recipient of the white person's affection is reduced to an object.
