We haven’t had up any blatant phallic ad imagery in a while, so I thought I’d share with you this Skyy Vodka ad, sent in by Dmitriy T.M. (found at AdRants):
From the AdRants post:
Defending the ad, Skyy Marketing Director Maura McGinn…said, “It’s about the content of our product. We’re an adult product consumed mostly in the evening and in flirtatious situations.”
Of course, it doesn’t actually show the product ejaculating, so it’s pretty tame, really.

I find all that shiny red plastic most disturbing.

It looks like the bottle is being used to squish a bug.

I just think ouch, both to how absurdly tight the latex she's wearing is, to the placement & size of the bottle, and to the position she's in.

So...according to the AdRant, we're not upset because it shows disembodied woman's legs to sell a product frequently used in rape apologia, we're upset because it depicts something remotely sex and sex is bad?

I tell ya most Skyy Vodka aint consumed in romantic flirty settings that's for sure - more like sticky dives filled with awkward undergrads... I can see the spotty boys trying hard not to gawp at this silly poster in grotty student Uni bars all over the world. And late at night one cock will dare the other cock to nick it so they can hang it on the back of their grubby student flat toilet door to impress the other cocks! Eeeeewwwwww

The Brits have been known to use a cock or two

I'm really confused. It looks like she has vinyl on OVER the heels.
I've been staring at it for a really long time trying to figure out what's going on.

I can't really comment on the imagery, but the colors used are fascinating.

I thought it was supposed to be one of those body pillows and she was just wearing fun pyjamas! ;-)

This actually makes me think of a stripper on a go-go pole.

And...just how do we know that the person wearing the red latex and boots is a woman? Ever see "Kinky Boots"?
PO — October 5, 2010
This doesn't look at all phallic to me. I agree that is more a stripper pole allusion if anything.

I thought red stood for dangerousness and sex?

Nice choice of words - juxtapose the ad with the words "flirtatious situations," I think after the fact there's been complaints to the marketing of Skyy, and this is their diplomatic PR response makes it more disgusting than it was.
Try, "We're an adult product consumed in hook-up bars/clubs, where you can ply a woman with alcohol. She wouldn't be (at least in our imagination) cleavage to toe in red latex if she didn't want to be flipped upside-down and F a lot, but don't pick bottom shelf or she'll give her hot goodies to someone who thinks she's worth at least a brand label. Skyy, we're not subtle."
