Below a pro-birth control public service announcement, by a sex-ed-type organization called Sex Really, that makes the argument that all men are total assholes, therefore women should make sure they use birth control…
…but they should still have sex with them of course! Duh!

The argument is that there are things you don't know about people.

I dunno, it seems fairly representative of my age group. The problem of course is that if they're assholes, they don't want to wear a condom.

Wow... some bunch of cuties...
I think it's the group effect. Some men and women act like that when they discuss a certain subject, they are trying to imitate something or they believe they should sound like that.
Or they are just idiots... all of them, including the girlfriend.
So what is it? An incorrect idea about your boyfriend or just a mask, which is horrible?

Huh, also "Phil" and "Phil's girlfriend" rather than, say, "Susan" and "Susan's boyfriend" or "Susan (Phil's girlfriend" and "Phil (Susan's boyfriend)."
Classy!!!

I feel like this perpetuates a lot of old stereotypes and it's unfortunate because this organization is using them to promote safe sex. There are a lot of things going on here that dilute the message. First of all, the video is aimed toward women (or possibly gay men?), as if women are the only ones who need to think about condoms. Second, this video makes men look bad in the way that men are "supposed" to look bad and that is really unnecessary to prove the point here. Third, why is the only woman in the video talking about having a baby?! As if that's the only issue that could arise from not using a condom...
I understand the overall message this video is trying to convey--the point is not lost on me--it just makes it less effective when it's presented this way.

Apart from the obvious which everyone has stated in their comments, has anyone noticed that message in this video is only implied and never actually stated? Phil's Girlfriend is answering a question we never get the hear. Everyone portrayed in this clip is cartoonish and portrayed as an @asshat. Guys talking smack as they might, mind you it is just talk, and a woman with an idealized romantic notion that her baby will win the genetic lottery.
It is still a funny clip though. I did laugh.

Most men ARE assholes. Ironically, that group of guys probably isn't, given that they are appearing and probably had a hand in coming up with that particular PSA.
On the other hand, it's hard to judge men by the bullshit they spew when surrounded by other men. In a perfect world, men that weren't into that kind of conversation could set up communities where they would never have to participate in that kind of crap. Some privileged men do; but most men never even get to find out that such opportunities could exist. In my experience, this gets easier with age, but not because ulterior communities are struck, but rather, that these men will simply withdraw from gatherings in general with age (segue to your stereotypical bitter dis-empowered control freak close-minded patriarch).

Has no one heard of the female condom? Why do they never talk about Dental Dams for oral sex?

STD's wouldn't really be my concern here. Casually discussing how to sexually humiliate women is a little more troubling.
It never fails to amaze me how men interested in heterosexual relationships so often act as if they genuinely dislike being in the company of women.

For cultural comparison, here's how the same message was passed on to Danish teenagers last year: http://www.casttv.com/video/8x8mei/kun-med-kondom-video (warning: Quite a lot of nudity). The speak at the end says "Only with a condom, the two of you will be alone in bed).
