Watch how this 60 Minutes clip from August 2006 manages to completely confuse three very different things: sex identity (believing you are biologically female or male), gendered behavior (conforming to cultural rules about girls/women and boys/men are supposed to do and like), and sexual orientation (which sex you are attracted to sexually). For examples, you know your boy is going to grow up wanting to have sex with men because he likes to “help out in the kitchen” or thinks he’s a girl. These are all very different things. It also includes some wretched study design.

By the way, funny story: When my nephew was about 2 years old he loved brooms and vacuums. My parents told me that it was because he liked “tools.”

What a fun cavalcade of misinformation!
I think my favorite part was the implication that giving a "philosophical" answer to a question is "gay" or "feminine" or whatever category basically precludes straight men from doing any serious thinking. Perhaps the "manly" response would have been to strike out with a weapon???

Ok, this made me cry out of both laughter and frusturation.
There are so many things wrong with this I don't even know where to start.
MY favourite part was when the "normal" boy was showing them his play-military men and fake guns.
The other thing I've always wondered about is the possible homoerotic undertones to playing with handsome, muscular, commanding GI Joes as a child, as opposed to playing with an over-sexualized representation of a woman.
And, of course, the fact that they can't seem to distinguish between "gay" and "transexual".
I could go on for days. I could write a novel.
What a fun cavalcade indeed.

Gislina, by transexual, i believe you mean transgendered , as i doubt the children profiled have gone under sexual reassignment surgery.
