Every time I see the cover of Parenting Magazine I’m surprised by the tagline:
“What matters to moms”
Here is the cover of the most recent issue. Where are dads? What sort of parenting do they do?

Exactly. The magazine is called "Parenting" after all, not "Mothering."

Being a single dad, I do the very best I can.

I wonder... do magazines like Parenting claim that they can't market to fathers, since men don't buy the magazine? (Of course, if they did market to fathers, they would likely easily get fathers to buy the magazine.) This is my pet peeve with magazines like this one, as well as 'zines like many cooking mags as well as "house-keeping" magazines like Real Simple. Speaking as a man, I choose specifically NOT to buy these magazines, since they do not even attempt to market to people like me.
I think there is a ripe story on the flip-side to this one.

Most of the magazine is selling cute baby products anyway. They print the same couple of statistics and vague mentions to "recent studies show" about stuff, and have a couple of columns about how hard parenting is, and that's pretty much it.

As a father who works with my wife to raise our kids together, I always find Mother-centric child rearing articles a little annoying.
The more I put into raising my kids, more annoyed I get. Is there a fathering magazine I'm suppose to be looking at that teaches me to let my wife do everything and only raise my kids when I'm interested? I'm glad I missed that magazine. How being a mom...er Dad changes you indeed.
