Stephen is a graduate student board member at The Society Pages, and a PhD candidate in Sociology at the University of Minnesota. Stephen’s scholarly interests are in the subfields of migration, race, class, gender, & sexuality, particularly in their intersection with Asian Americans. His dissertation research examines the growing global trend of ethnic return migration through the perspectives of Korean American “returnees”. He has extensive training in a number of qualitative research methodologies, including in-depth interviews and ethnography. A Southern California native, Stephen attended the University of California-San Diego, where he earned BA degrees in Ethnic Studies and Psychology.
