David Phillippi from Mind of Modernity joins the conversation this week. We kick things off with a discussion of liberal professors and political bias in sociology. Arturo unleashes his inner radical, pleading with us to “be the counter-narrative”, while Jon and Chris bring him down with a depressing case for the End of Sociology.

Hey guys,
As a podcaster and grad student myself, I dig your stuff!
Anyways, you mentioned a divide (curtain?) between genetics and sociologists on this episode. I thought I'd share this article abstract.
"Genetic Thinking in the Study of Social Relationships: Five Points of Entry"

I think APS does a really good job of bringing in science that deals thoughtfully with social and contextual variables.
Cheers!

One more share here, and I'm done, I promise!
This article also does a pretty good job of thinking through the interplay of genes and environment.
"Understanding the Early Origins of the Education–Health Gradient:
A Framework That Can Also Be Applied to Analyze Gene–Environment Interactions"
http://pps.sagepub.com/content/5/5/585.abstract
Both of these articles are hot off the press.
