I've seen that commercial too and loved it...until I saw it was for the Fatherhood Initiative. I have issues with the way the initiative is seen...as a program to tell men of color to father. Not to mention the tax money that goes into the marriage promotion part of the initiative. "Poor people need to marry!"
I assume that with Obama's messaging to black fathers during the campaign, the initiative will live on and perhaps with even more money. There must be better ways to encourage fathers to be more involved...not just single dads, but every dad - including the rich white dads who spend too much time in the office.
I was pleased to see links to domestic violence resources on the FI site thou.

Good point V. Was the Fatherhood Initiative something started under George W then?

Great ad. But yeah, hard to say I agree with the group saying the message. Love the message, hate the messenger.

Entertaining ad. I believe the fatherhood clearinghouse--part of Health and Human Services--was launched by Bush in Feb., 2001, as one of his first acts. That's reason enough to be suspicious of it. But I'd like to hear more from Veronica and Cinnamon about why they don't like it.
I have my own reason not to like it: I'm unhappy that it isn't paired with a program for irresponsible mothers. Mothers, too, can abandon kids, abuse them physically and emotionally, and otherwise take bad care of them. Why not a National Parenthood Clearinghouse, rather than focusing solely on fathers?
I welcome further discussion.

I just LOVE this commercial! It reminds me of MY Dad. I miss him dearly and it's nice to know there are other Dads like him.

One thing I would really like to say is that often car insurance cancellations is a dreaded experience and if you're doing the proper things as a driver you won't get one. Some people do receive the notice that they are officially dropped by their particular insurance company and many have to scramble to get added insurance after the cancellation. Low cost auto insurance rates tend to be hard to get after the cancellation. Understanding the main reasons regarding auto insurance canceling can help motorists prevent burning off one of the most vital privileges available. Thanks for the suggestions shared by means of your blog.

Have you ever thought about adding a lіttlе bit more
than just your articles? I mean, what you say is fundamental and
all. Nevеrtheless imagine if yοu added some
grеаt graphics or videos to give your postѕ
more, "pop"! Υouг content is excellеnt but wіth imаges and video clips, this
site could certainlу be one of the most benеficіal
in itѕ niche. Excellent blog!
