A quick hit:
Do check out this this Boston Globe op-ed, “The Macho Stimulus Plan,” about Obama’s stimulus package ignoring women, by Randy Albelda, a professor of economics and senior fellow at the Center for Social Policy at University of Massachusetts-Boston.
Say some prominent feminist historians, “We could be repeating the mistakes of the New Deal.”

Not a surprise that we are overlooked because isn't the assumption that we are all partnered? So if our mate has a good job than we are fine?
Women can do heavy labor. We are capable of learning the skills needed to rebuild the infrastructure. Let's not forget that.
As a country we have never put money where our mouths were in terms of ensuring our children are well cared for and properly educated. Never. I worked in public education for twenty years and most of them were leaner and meaner than you can imagine.
The whole economic stimulus approach by Washington is band-aid and/or reactive. This is just another chapter in the same book. So far I haven't seen much change.
