Sexual Assault Prevention Tips Guaranteed to Work!
1. Don’t put drugs in people’s drinks in order to control their behavior.
2. When you see someone walking by themselves, leave them alone!
3. If you pull over to help someone with car problems, remember not to assault them!
4. NEVER open an unlocked door or window uninvited.
5. If you are in an elevator and someone else gets in, DON’T ASSAULT THEM!
6. Remember, people go to laundry to do their laundry, do not attempt to molest someone who is alone in a laundry room.
7. USE THE BUDDY SYSTEM! If you are not able to stop yourself from assaulting people, ask a friend to stay with you while you are in public.
8. Always be honest with people! Don’t pretend to be a caring friend in order to gain the trust of someone you want to assault. Consider telling them you plan to assault them. If you don’t communicate your intentions, the other person may take that as a sign that you do not plan to rape them.
9. Don’t forget: you can’t have sex with someone unless they are awake!
10. Carry a whistle! If you are worried you might assault someone “on accident” you can hand it to the person you are with, so they can blow it if you do.
And, ALWAYS REMEMBER: if you didn’t ask permission and then respect the answer the first time, you are committing a crime- no matter how into it others appear to be.
P.S. Thanks to Ampersand for the pingback that put these tips on our radar.

Love this post! Teaching sexuality courses to college students, I always emphasize that we, as a society, need to teach men how not to be rapists -- I couldn't think of a better summary of just that! (Note: I realize that not all rapists are men, but the statistics are pretty skewed in that direction.)

I have a problem. I like to dress up sexily, like most guys, when I go out. But every time I do I feel sexy and my libido gets fired up, and find myself in danger of sexually assaulting people. I feel like it's an infringement on my freedom to have to avoid dressing up the way I want to just to avoid the danger of a sexual assault, but I feel like it's the only way to be safe.

A MUST READ on misdirecting blame « hahayourefunny — April 6, 2011
[...] a must must must read on misdirecting blame: I hope I don’t need to go into why blaming rape victims for their rapes is bad, but I will say this: the second you start disparagingly discussing the clothing choices of rape, assault, or harassment victims, you’re blaming the victim. For what other reason is such a discussion necessary in such a context? A person who commits a crime against another person is the only person at fault for committing said crime. It is not the victim’s fault that they were victimized. A rapist makes the decision to rape another person. Clothing does not cause rape. RAPISTS CAUSE RAPE….. [...]

simply just trying to figure out how to begin. Any suggestions or hints?
Appreciate it!

None of it will work because rapists cannot change their nature. Something is wrong in their head or DNA. The problem is that the rest of us seem to think that rapists don't rape, but ordinary men rape. And if we just teach ordinary men and boys not to rape, and they listen to our advice, that rape will go away.
This is well-meaning but misdirected because ordinary men and boy do not rape, cannot rape and will never rape. Its rapists who rape. And again, they have something wrong with them genetically or mentally that cannot be changed.
That is why perhaps we might need to rethink the death penalty for rapists.
They cannot be reformed so rather than take the chances on them raping again once out of prison (if they ever go to prison in the first place), and believe me, they WILL rape again because they are wired to, well maybe its better to put them and us out of all that misery and just end their lives.
