I&#8217;m impressed by the Obama campaign&#8217;s ability to innovate.  This is definitely an interesting spin on the staid convention format.  I think they intend it to be read as Obama &#8220;breaking out&#8221; of a confining arena  to welcome those outside the party (i.e. accepting the nomination outdoors).
