{"id":62055,"date":"2014-03-27T09:00:23","date_gmt":"2014-03-27T14:00:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thesocietypages.org\/socimages\/?p=62055"},"modified":"2017-09-17T16:28:39","modified_gmt":"2017-09-17T21:28:39","slug":"clownifying-ads-a-good-laugh-at-their-expense","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thesocietypages.org\/socimages\/2014\/03\/27\/clownifying-ads-a-good-laugh-at-their-expense\/","title":{"rendered":"Clownifying Ads: A Good Laugh at Their Expense"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We&#8217;re previously featured great examples of <a href=\"https:\/\/thesocietypages.org\/socimages\/2014\/01\/26\/resistance-to-objectifying-advertising\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">resistance to sexist advertising<\/a>, but this example takes it up a level. \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/clownifystickers.tumblr.com\/post\/79060800133\/dear-red-nose-clown-spa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Clownify<\/a> describes itself as a &#8220;street art project to turn everyday ads into ads for clowns.&#8221; I&#8217;m not sure what political message they intend to send, but what I see is a super easy, I would even say graceful, way of knocking us into consciousness.
