\"\"<\/a>In the 3-minute video below we see 100 people<\/a>, filmed by Jeroen Wolf<\/a>, from ages one to one hundred. \u00a0The one-year-old mostly just stares, the remainder look into the camera and state their age.<\/p>\n

What I find interesting is the uneven way that people age. \u00a0As you watch the clip, people’s ages become increasingly difficult to pin down. \u00a0You know that each person is about one year older than the last, but their appearance betrays this knowledge. \u00a0One might look significantly<\/em> older than the one before, or quite a bit younger. \u00a0How old we look doesn’t ascend nicely in a linear fashion, \u00a0but varies tremendously. \u00a0No doubt this is based, in part, on genetics and life choices, but it is also dependent on opportunities and expectations related to ascribed identities and social structures.<\/p>\n
