It’s okay.\u00a0 Ever since you were a cave dweller.\u00a0 Hunting has come naturally.\u00a0\u00a0 But you won’t get anywhere with cave breath.<\/p>\n

So aside from having a mouth that won’t scare her off, we’ve outlined some fundamental basics you’ll need to master when out on the hunt.<\/p>\n

THE SPECIES:\u00a0 First of all, you have to know what you’re hunting.\u00a0 Here are some common species you may encounter on your expeditions.\u00a0 Good luck.<\/p>\n

THE CAREER GIRL:\u00a0 The one in a power suit with a cell phone attached to her ear, tends to be icy and dismissive but can be melted.\u00a0 Play your cards right and you will be a kept man.\u00a0 Habitat: Gym, high-end shoe stores, assertiveness-training classes.<\/p>\n

THE HOT GIRL: Hot and know it.\u00a0 Will toy with you like a cat with a mouse (if she even notices you).\u00a0 Tame this one and you can write your own guide.\u00a0 Habitat: The market, the bus, living next door to your girlfriend.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

THE EASY GIRL:\u00a0 Appearances vary, but the same willing soul resides within.\u00a0 A sure thing that can be a temporary boost to the ego.\u00a0 Habitat:\u00a0\u00a0 Could be anywhere.\u00a0 Good chance you’ll spot her at happy hour.<\/p>\n

THE TEASE:\u00a0 Easily mistaken for the easy girl, she’s anything but.\u00a0 Habitat: Anywhere.<\/p>\n

THE CHATTY GIRL:\u00a0 You won’t recognize her until you say ‘Hi.’\u00a0 Then it’s too late.\u00a0 To escape, fake getting a phone call and say you’ll be ‘right back.’\u00a0 Habitat: Almost anywhere except a library.<\/p>\n

THE BOHEMIAN ROCKER GIRL: Odds are she’s no musician.\u00a0 Just dresses like one.\u00a0 Look interested when she talks about all the ‘projects’ she has going on while not being an administrative assistant.\u00a0 Habitat: Used record stores, art museums, open mic night.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

RULES WHEN OUT IN THE FIELD:<\/p>\n

Look her in the eye, not the anatomy.<\/p>\n

Compliment her outfit.\u00a0 Lie if you have to.<\/p>\n

Look interested when she talks about her cat.<\/p>\n

If you get shot down, move on to one of her friends.<\/p>\n

Pop in a piece of Dentyne before making any moves.<\/p>\n

RED FLAGS:<\/p>\n

In the first five minutes, she mentions an ex.<\/p>\n

She says she has to go home and take her ‘medication.’<\/p>\n

She’s made plans for the two of you next weekend.<\/p>\n

She knows every bartender by name.<\/p>\n

She has an adam’s apple.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
