history and politics, moms\u00a0like to smell nice and look shiny, girlfriends and wives like chick flicks and cute stuff, boyfriends and husbands like classic rock and knowing what time it is, grandpas like to watch documentaries (probably about &#8220;the war&#8221;), and grandmas just want to look at pictures of their grandchildren.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a but wine is woman-y right?). \u00a0So&#8230; counter-stereotypical push back against the gender machine? \u00a0Or a typo? \u00a0I&#8217;m going with typo. \u00a0Funny typo.<\/p>\n<p catalog<\/a>. \u00a0Sandwiched between two more gender neutral sets of pages are the obviously boy and girl sections. \u00a0These two pictures pretty much sum it up:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Interestingly, the reader said that the print version of the magazine was very slightly less gender-stereotypical and more race-mixed.<\/p>\n<p>For a gift guide that&#8217;s not-so-gendered, visit Think Geek. \u00a0Fitz sent in links to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thinkgeek.com\/interests\/giftsforhim\/\" target=\"_blank\">&#8220;For Him&#8221;<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thinkgeek.com\/interests\/giftsforher\/\" target=\"_blank\">&#8220;For Her&#8221;<\/a> pages on the site. \u00a0The gift guide is gendered, then, as opposed to being organized in some other way, but the suggested presents aren&#8217;t as strongly gendered as we see elsewhere. \u00a0Not only is there some overlap, but things like bacon-flavored chapstick and a pizza cutter in the shape of the Star Trek enterprise are suggested for women and things like cupcake-flavored mints and mini stuffed microbes are suggested for men. \u00a0So, it&#8217;s no gender-free panacea, but it&#8217;s less binary than we&#8217;re used to.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/thesocietypages.org\/socimages\/files\/2011\/12\/115.png\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-10\"
