They haven&#8217;t released any charts of the 2010 data yet, but the <em><a href=\"http:\/\/online.wsj.com\/article\/SB10001424052702304657804576401890078537246.html?mod=WSJ_economy_LeftTopHighlights#project%3DTIME0623%26articleTabs%3Darticle\" target=\"_blank\">Wall Street Journal<\/a><\/em> posted an article with an image that summarizes the changes since 2007, before the recession began. Not surprisingly, on average Americans are spending less time working and more time sleeping and watching TV, among other activities:<a href=\"https:\/\/thesocietypages.org\/socimages\/files\/2011\/08\/A-Day-in-the-Life-How-America-Spends-Its-Time.jpeg\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-0\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-38615\" src=\"https:\/\/thesocietypages.org\/socimages\/files\/2011\/08\/A-Day-in-the-Life-How-America-Spends-Its-Time-500x287.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"287\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thesocietypages.org\/socimages\/files\/2011\/08\/A-Day-in-the-Life-How-America-Spends-Its-Time-500x287.jpg 500w, https:\/\/thesocietypages.org\/socimages\/files\/2011\/08\/A-Day-in-the-Life-How-America-Spends-Its-Time.jpeg 959w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Keep in mind those numbers are daily averages that even out activity that is often not evenly distributed in real life (such as work, where weekly hours worked are averaged across all 7 days).<\/p>\n<p>These changes seem insignificant when you look at them; so what if Americans are, on average, sleeping 5 extra minutes a day, or spending 2 minutes less buying things?
