NEWS:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Gwen and I are finishing up our semesters and looking back at a wonderful year with all of you!<\/p>\n

Some highlights:<\/p>\n

We were granted an innovation in teaching award from\u00a0the Pacific Sociological Association and have been nominated for awards from the\u00a0American Sociological Association and\u00a0the Pop Culture \/ American Culture Association. \u00a0Plus David Mayeda\u00a0was kind enough to review us\u00a0for\u00a0Teaching Sociology<\/a>.<\/p>\n

We started accepting proposals for\u00a0guest posts<\/a>.<\/p>\n

We broke the 10,000 friend barrier on Facebook<\/a>. \u00a0(And we think over 3,500 on\u00a0Twitter<\/a> is nothing to shake a stick at.)<\/p>\n

We just barely almost didn’t quite reach 750,000 visits in one month. \u00a0But darn were we close!<\/p>\n

We entered a partial syndication agreement with the historic\u00a0Ms. magazine<\/a>.<\/p>\n

We broke a story that ended with Abercrombie Kids pulling their push-up bikini top for kids. \u00a0Read the original post<\/a> and\u00a0our summary<\/a>.<\/p>\n

We managed to fool a few of you on April Fool’s Day (scroll to bottom<\/a>).<\/p>\n

And we let you all in on\u00a0the mystery that is Dmitriy T.M.<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Sociologists, Gwen and I will be at ASA, SWS, and SSSP this August. So please say “hello” if you see us or look us up in the programs. We’ll be giving a talk or two.<\/p>\n
