As a follow-up, here&#8217;s a map, via <a href=\"http:\/\/www.blameitonthevoices.com\/2011\/02\/worldwide-annual-coffee-consumption-per.html\" target=\"_blank\">Blame It on the Voices<\/a>, showing global consumption of coffee (with the rather major omission of China, among other nations, due to lack of data):<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/thesocietypages.org\/socimages\/files\/2011\/02\/coffee.jpg\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-0\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-33443 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/thesocietypages.org\/socimages\/files\/2011\/02\/coffee-500x265.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"265\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thesocietypages.org\/socimages\/files\/2011\/02\/coffee-500x265.jpg 500w, https:\/\/thesocietypages.org\/socimages\/files\/2011\/02\/coffee.jpg 899w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Consumption is measured in kilograms and, as <a href=\"http:\/\/chartsbin.com\/view\/581\" target=\"_blank\">ChartsBin<\/a> explains, &#8220;Weight is presented as Green Bean Equivalent (GBE). 1 pound roasted coffee = 1.19 pounds of green coffee beans.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Scandinavians drink the most coffee, on average. Based on the most recent available data, Finland, at 12 kg GBE each per year, tops the charts, and Norway, Denmark, and Sweden also make it into the top 10 (from ChartsBin):<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/thesocietypages.org\/socimages\/files\/2011\/02\/coffee2.jpg\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-1\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-33444 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/thesocietypages.org\/socimages\/files\/2011\/02\/coffee2-500x249.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"249\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thesocietypages.org\/socimages\/files\/2011\/02\/coffee2-500x249.jpg 500w, https:\/\/thesocietypages.org\/socimages\/files\/2011\/02\/coffee2.jpg 596w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The U.S. comes in at #26, consuming 4 kg\/person annually.
