There\u2019s a <em>metamessage<\/em> (the message behind the message itself) or subtext of some kind.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>These first two onesies (found at Racialicious and <a href=\"http:\/\/resistracism.wordpress.com\/2007\/04\/21\/earth-to-parents\/\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a> respectively) are from children adopted from Guatemala:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3190  aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/thesocietypages.org\/socimages\/files\/2008\/10\/1039978321_a8b421430c.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"159\" height=\"239\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/thesocietypages.org\/socimages\/files\/2008\/10\/1040019019_3eeba6fb6a_m.jpg\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-0\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/thesocietypages.org\/socimages\/files\/2008\/10\/picture13.png\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-1\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3187  aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/thesocietypages.org\/socimages\/files\/2008\/10\/picture13.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"163\" height=\"216\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And this one, also found at Racialicious, is for babies adopted from China:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/thesocietypages.org\/socimages\/files\/2008\/10\/1039978321_a8b421430c.jpg\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-2\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/thesocietypages.org\/socimages\/files\/2008\/10\/1039975751_6dcb91da21.jpg\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-3\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3189  aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/thesocietypages.org\/socimages\/files\/2008\/10\/1039975751_6dcb91da21.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"170\" height=\"236\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The first and last one associate babies with goods (&#8220;special delivery&#8221; and &#8220;imported&#8221;) that can\u00a0be bought.\u00a0 Those with superior resources (i.e., Americans?) can buy these goods.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The middle one de-humanizes Guatamalans.\u00a0 As <a href=\"http:\/\/resistracism.wordpress.com\/2007\/04\/21\/earth-to-parents\/\" target=\"_blank\">Resistance<\/a> notes: What is a Guatling?\u00a0 &#8220;Is it like an earthling? A foundling? An underling? A gosling?
