As one coach said to me, &#8220;that is not the sort of picture that Skate Canada wants to paint for the country, especially in an international forum.&#8221; Every effort is made to construct such skaters as heterosexual.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>We&#8217;ve posted on Skate Canada&#8217;s get &#8220;tough&#8221; campaign <a href=\"https:\/\/thesocietypages.org\/socimages\/2009\/02\/19\/skate-canada-gets-tough\/\" target=\"_self\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<span class=\"ft_signature\"><em><a href=\"http:\/\/lisa-wade.com\/\">Lisa Wade, PhD<\/a> is an Associate Professor at Tulane University.
