All of the essays are written by current and former sex workers who identify as feminist. It&#8217;s pretty fascinating.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the phone sex operators talk about what they do while having &#8220;phone sex,&#8221; like chores and booking airline tickets and whathaveyou. It really demystifies the industry.<\/p>\n<p>As do the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/phonesexthebook.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">photographs by Phillip Toledano<\/a>, sent in by Phillip B.<\/p>\n<span class=\"ft_signature\"><em><a href=\"http:\/\/lisa-wade.com\/\">Lisa Wade, PhD<\/a> is an Associate Professor at Tulane University.
