We’ve been so busy with PETA, we’ve forgotten about American Apparel.\u00a0 What does one have to do with the other?\u00a0 They both sacrifice one social justice issue in pursuit of another.\u00a0 I find this leftist balkanization–where lefty groups choose one and only one social justice issue and ignore the rest, or even exacerbate\u00a0them–fascinating.\u00a0 It leads to, if you will allow me to mix metaphors, a leftist cannibalization.\u00a0 We are eating ourselves.\u00a0<\/p>\n

So anyway, American Apparel is American<\/em> Apparel because they are supposed to care about fair wages.\u00a0 You know, made in America according to fair labor laws.\u00a0 Anti-sweatship and all that good stuff.\u00a0 What a lovely thing.\u00a0 Except… their ads (stolen from Copyranter<\/a>).\u00a0 They make me want to wash my eyes out with soap.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Um… not safe for work.<\/p>\n
