“How a kind word ruin by beezness”<\/p>\n
1. Everyone takes the siesta in the heat of the day, except I, poor Juan.\u00a0 While all are asleep, the shops are closed.\u00a0 Except my shop, where I sell pottery to the American tourists for ten times what it costs in America.<\/p>\n
2. An American senorita comes one afternoon to buy the pottery.\u00a0 “How is it that you do not take the siesta<\/em>?” she asked, speaking that strange language which I have heard called Highschool Spanish.\u00a0 “Ah, senorita<\/em>,” I sighed, “I cannot sleep!”<\/p>\n
3.\u00a0 “Is it the coffee!” I explained.\u00a0 “I love the coffee. I cannot resist it.\u00a0 But when I drink it with the lunch, then all afternoon I am wide awake!”\u00a0 She nodded.\u00a0 “It is good business to be open when other shops are closed!”<\/p>\n
4. “I would give all the beezness for a good siesta<\/em>!” I cried.\u00a0 “Then you should drink Sanka Coffee,” she said.\u00a0 “It’s 97% caffein-free [sic], and can’t <\/em>keep you awake!”\u00a0 “It is an American trick!”\u00a0 I scoffed.\u00a0 “How can it be good <\/em>coffee?”<\/p>\n
5. “It’s wonderful!\u00a0 A blend of fine Central and South American coffees!” she replied.\u00a0 “And the Council on Foods of the American Medical Association says: ‘Sanka Coffee is free from caffein [sic] effect, and can be used when other coffee has been forbidden!’ ”<\/p>\n
6.\u00a0 So in gratitude I charge her only five <\/em>times what the pottery is worth.\u00a0 Later, I try Sanka Coffee.\u00a0 Delicious.\u00a0 And I sleep <\/em>each day during the afternoon.\u00a0 My pottery beezness, he is ruin but ah, amigo<\/em>… how I enjoy the siesta<\/em>!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
