The primary duties and responsibilities of this position include:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size:85%\">Research, compile, analyze and map crime trends and patterns. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size:85%\">Assist patrol, investigative and administrative staff in planning the deployment of resources for the prevention, intervention, and suppression of criminal activities. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size:85%\">Provide investigative case support to assist in criminal investigations. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size:85%\">Produce and disseminate information sharing bulletins and alerts. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size:85%\">Act as liaison to all Hennepin County Sheriff&#8217;s Office and neighboring law enforcement Crime Analysis Details. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size:85%\">Gather, research and analyze information in order to develop criminal information products. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size:85%\">Perform crime analysis in support of law enforcement efforts. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size:85%\">Detect and describe tactical, administrative, and strategic links, patterns, and trends in crimes. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size:85%\">Respond to inquiries from law enforcement and other agencies.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:85%\">The Ideal Candidate will have:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size:85%\">Bachelor&#8217;s degree or higher in sociology, psychology, criminal justice, law enforcement, business\/public administration, or a closely related field PLUS one year of analyst, investigative or law enforcement experience (experience may be substituted for education on a year for year basis). <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size:85%\">Knowledge of research and data analysis methods and techniques. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size:85%\">Ability to collect, assemble, analyze, and evaluate evidence, statistics, and other pertinent information to draw logical conclusions in order to effectively solve crimes. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size:85%\">Experience working with Arc GIS Mapping, Pen Link or I2 analytical software. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size:85%\">Experience working with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint). <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size:85%\">Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size:85%\">Experience working with federal, state and local law enforcement databases. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size:85%\">Ability to demonstrate the employee <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/wwwa.co.hennepin.mn.us\/portal\/site\/HCInternet\/menuitem.3f94db53874f9b6f68ce1e10b1466498\/?vgnextoid=2888a44d3d9fc010VgnVCM1000000f094689RCRD\"><span style=\"font-size:85%\">competencies.<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:85%\">This position may be subject to overtime or extended hours when necessary.
