and the comments &#8211; with a couple of men in my Inside-Out class at the state penitentiary who were convicted as juveniles (they do not have internet access, so I shared a paper printout and was given a handwritten response).\u00a0 These are his words:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/thesocietypages.org\/pubcrim\/files\/2012\/10\/life-in-prison-for-youth.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft  wp-image-1598\" title=\"life in prison for youth\" src=\"https:\/\/thesocietypages.org\/pubcrim\/files\/2012\/10\/life-in-prison-for-youth-1024x752.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"548\" height=\"402\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thesocietypages.org\/pubcrim\/files\/2012\/10\/life-in-prison-for-youth-1024x752.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/thesocietypages.org\/pubcrim\/files\/2012\/10\/life-in-prison-for-youth-300x220.jpg 300w, https:\/\/thesocietypages.org\/pubcrim\/files\/2012\/10\/life-in-prison-for-youth.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 548px) 100vw, 548px\" \/><\/a>\u201cPeople are versatile.\u201d\u00a0 I pulled this from what was written in the previous comment.\u00a0 Absolutely, I agree.\u00a0 Beyond that, and in support of that very idea is that \u201ceveryone is different,\u201d as no two people or situations are the same.\u00a0 Do I believe that there are some juveniles who once imprisoned should at no point thereafter be released?\u00a0 Yes, I do believe that, however, not based solely on that act which first put them in prison.\u00a0 To say that any choice made as a juvenile discounts one\u2019s ability to grow, learn, change, and become a productive member of society\u2026for the rest of their life!\u00a0 No, not now and not ever.\u00a0 One can change at any stage in life, for better or worse, we as humans are continually going through changes from the moment we are conceived to the moment we pass from life to death, this is simply in our nature.\u00a0 I don\u2019t believe it is just in any way, shape or form to label a juvenile as \u201cscum\u201d that cannot ever change and therefore be sentenced to \u201cLife in Prison\u201d when at that age there remains such an incredible amount of potential for both growth and change.\u00a0 It does no harm to allow someone hope;
