Nancy is the author of <a><span style=\"font-style: italic\">Beyond (Straight and Gay) Marriage: Valuing All Families under the Law,<\/span><\/a> and a law professor at American University, and a scholar who calls for valuing contemporary families not as they &#8220;should&#8221; be but as they are.
