The Tribune ran a follow-up article (<a href=\"http:\/\/www2.tbo.com\/content\/2007\/oct\/09\/ba-no-bras-burned-but-they-did-revolt\/\">&#8220;No Bras Burned, But They Did Revolt&#8221;<\/a>) to correct the myth they were perpetuating in an earlier piece.  The correction begins:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-style:italic\"><span style=\"font-style:italic\">It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s a myth so pervasive, most of us believe it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s true.<\/p>\n<p>I know I did.<\/p>\n<p>So when information about \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcfeminist bra burning rallies\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 turned up in a timeline Maidenform provided for a Sept. 27 story on the history of the bra, I didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t think twice about using it.<\/p>\n<p>Bra-burning women\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s libbers have become an important part of 1960s lore. I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve heard stories about them. I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve read about them in books and magazines.<\/p>\n<p>The problem is, things didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t go down quite the way those stories tell it.<\/p>\n<p>That\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s not to say bra-burning never happened as a public protest anywhere during the turbulent \u00e2\u20ac\u212260s.
