\"\"Just a quick shout out to a number of authors with FANTABULOUS feminist books out this fall.\u00c2\u00a0 Congrats, admiration, and heartfelt kudos to:<\/p>\n

1. GWP’s very own Elline Lipkin<\/a>, <\/strong>who penned Girls’ Studies,<\/a> hot off the presses from Seal; it’s the latest in the Seal Studies series (which includes Shira Tarrant’s most excellent Men and Feminism<\/em> of course too!) and gets the thumbs up from Peggy Orenstein who says “If I were to recommend one book to students of the field, Girls Studies <\/em>would be it.”<\/p>\n

2. Demos Distinguished Senior Fellow Linda Tarr-Whelan, <\/strong>whose book Women Lead the Way: Your Guide to Stepping Up to Leadership and Changing the World<\/a>\"\" offers practical steps for women to bring their passions, brains, and background to the power tables and make life better for themselves, their companies\/organizations, and the world.\u00c2\u00a0 We’ve still got a ways to go.<\/p>\n

3. Clarie Mysko, formerly of Girls Inc,<\/strong> whose book Does This Pregnancy Make Me Look Fat?: The Essential Guide to Loving Your Body Before and After Baby<\/a>\"\" and whose body activism could not have come at a better time for this soon-to-be mama over here.<\/p>\n

4. Jacquette Timmons, a compadre of mine from Woodhull, <\/strong>whose inaugural book Financial Intimacy: How to Create a Healthy Relationship with Your Money and Your Mate<\/a>\"\" smartly addresses the financial issues that couples face, examining how family background, personal choices, and socioeconomic and cultural influences affect the way women merge love and money.<\/p>\n

…and lastly, a book long-awaited, the publication of which is now poignantly bittersweet…<\/p>\n

5. Nona Willis-Aronowitz and the late (and much missed) Emma Bee Bernstein,<\/strong> whose Girldrive: Criss-Crossing America, Redefining Feminism<\/a>\"\". It’s a road trip, a blog, a book, and, quite frankly, an inspiration.
