{"id":1620,"date":"2009-05-10T15:58:34","date_gmt":"2009-05-10T20:58:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/girlwpen.com\/?p=1620"},"modified":"2009-05-10T15:58:34","modified_gmt":"2009-05-10T20:58:34","slug":"my-mothers-day-reading","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thesocietypages.org\/girlwpen\/2009\/05\/10\/my-mothers-day-reading\/","title":{"rendered":"My Mother&#8217;s Day Reading"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"left\" src=\"http:\/\/ecx.images-amazon.com\/images\/I\/41dQ8xWBtBL._SL500_AA240_.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I launched the weekend by reading my first official parenting book: Amy Tiemann&#8217;s mojo-y book, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/1592404553?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=girlwithpende-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;creativeASIN=1592404553\">Mojo Mom: Nurturing Your Self While Raising a Family<\/a><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border:none !important;margin:0px !important\" src=\"http:\/\/www.assoc-amazon.com\/e\/ir?t=girlwithpende-20&amp;l=as2&amp;o=1&amp;a=1592404553\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" \/> (the new editiion!).\u00c2\u00a0 And I am so thankful to have started here.\u00c2\u00a0 Many of you are familiar with Amy&#8217;s message from reading her blog (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.mojomom.com\">Mojo Mom<\/a>), but in all honesty, it didn&#8217;t really sink in for me of course until I got pregnant.\u00c2\u00a0 Now it&#8217;s all gotten very personal.\u00c2\u00a0 And what a relief that this book exists.<\/p>\n<p>Chapter 1 begins: &#8220;It is tempting to romanticize miraculous transformations.&#8221;\u00c2\u00a0 The chapter&#8217;s epigraph reads: &#8220;Sometimes you just have to take a leap and build your wings on the way down.&#8221;\u00c2\u00a0 Still barfing at 13 weeks, I&#8217;m having a wee bit of a hard time when well-intentioned friends and loved ones say to me &#8220;this is such a special time!
