I have been thinking of you\u00e2\u20ac\u201c your honesty about what\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s happening and your ability to write about it on a day to day basis are really amazing and inspiring. No doubt you and Marco are resilient and will have what it takes to get through this on the other side, perhaps even in a better position. If I can do anything\u00e2\u20ac\u201c let me know! I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122d be happy to!<\/p>\n

The recession sucks\u00e2\u20ac\u201c and it amplifies everyone\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s fears. In the non profit world, where I live, the loss of state contracts in the wake of Paterson\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s proposed budget, the increased competition for foundation dollars as their endowments take hits, or close all together in the case of Picower and Jeht\u00e2\u20ac\u201c (all of their money was tied up in Madoff) we are now all \u00e2\u20ac\u0153bunkering down\u00e2\u20ac\u009d in your words, running numbers, strategizing, crying, hoping, praying, and as always, working, working, working, and remembering the reason we do the work\u00e2\u20ac\u201c the girls we serve.<\/p>\n

Sometimes I feel my mind running all of the terrible what if scenarios..and I feel like its what people used to say about terrorism, you know, if you are afraid to go outside then \u00e2\u20ac\u0153they\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve won already.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d I wasn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t one to be wrapped up in fear and paranoia around the terrorism thing, but I do feel that its good to stop obsessing and worrying (but thinking and strategizing) or \u00e2\u20ac\u0153they will have won already.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d I refuse to let the Madoffs and the Bushes and the Cheneys win in my personal world\u00e2\u20ac\u201c<\/p>\n
