{"id":126,"date":"2007-06-12T09:23:00","date_gmt":"2007-06-12T14:23:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/girlwpen.com\/?p=126"},"modified":"2007-06-12T09:23:00","modified_gmt":"2007-06-12T14:23:00","slug":"launch-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thesocietypages.org\/girlwpen\/2007\/06\/12\/launch-day\/","title":{"rendered":"LAUNCH DAY!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ok, I&#8217;m more than a little psyched &#8211; <span style=\"font-weight:bold\">PUB DAY IS HERE!!<\/span>  This morning I was carrying a copy of <span style=\"font-style:italic\">Sisterhood, Interrupted<\/span> (which Marco has started to refer to for some reason as &#8220;Sisterrupted&#8221;) as I was waiting in line at Starbucks and the woman behind me asked &#8220;Is that book good? I like the title&#8221;  and I got to say, &#8220;I wrote it!&#8221;  Very fun way to start the day.  That, and with a link to the awesome Courtney Martin&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.alternet.org\/story\/53844\/\">piece on my book in AlterNet today<\/a>.  Also going live today is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.centerfornewwords.org\/blog\/2007\/06\/interview_deborah_siegel.php\">an interview by the amazing ladies over at the Center for New Words.<br \/><\/a><br \/>I forgot to mention yesterday how inspired I was by the Annual Spring Reading I went to on Sunday for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.girlswritenow.org\/gwn\/\">Girls Write Now<\/a>.  Those girls have got it going <span style=\"font-style:italic\">on<\/span>. The store (B&amp;N at Astor Place) was jam packed, and the girls&#8211;all in their teens&#8211;read their heartfelt, beautiful, painful, poignant, courageous writing to the crowd.  The fearless and ever-inspiring Jessica Valenti kicked it off.  Congrats Patti and Maya and all the others over at GWN on such a stupendous event!
