While they are primarily meant to support sociologists during this time, we think many of the resources will appeal to TSP&#8217;s broad audience. For example, ASA has curated a list of journal articles (open-access for the time being &#8211; no paywall!) related to COVID-19, like <a href=\"https:\/\/journals.sagepub.com\/doi\/full\/10.1177\/2156869313507288\">this article on how job insecurity relates to mental health<\/a>. For instructors, ASA&#8217;s teaching resources platform, TRAILS, is currently open-access. Read more about the resources ASA is offering below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"> <strong>Open Access ASA Journal Articles Relevant to COVID-19\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong> <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>\n\nASA has worked with our journal editors to create a curated collection of existing articles from ASA journals that could be useful when trying to respond to,&nbsp;cope with, and teach about&nbsp;the enormous disruptions this pandemic has produced.&nbsp;&nbsp;A few examples of what you will find in the collection:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>A graphic&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.mmsend74.com\/link.cfm?r=NHlypkI-Yq4UE0U0wWY3gQ~~&amp;pe=xasjanM1lYw5fl7gy-o4uypaR4OXyMc1crBfBhzzNZ6tCCMWBkNCc3ZRBWu6Ti2gE4IRNiSG4O5PG68RHdW-Zw~~&amp;t=bE6yjvdNwrCF3JyM4wJ3yg~~\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">visualization&nbsp;<\/a>of the cumulative effects&nbsp;of natural hazards on racial wealth gaps between 1999-2013 which sheds light on disparities in economic impact this pandemic may have. &nbsp;<\/li><li>A socio-organizational approach to explaining empirical variation in rates of&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.mmsend74.com\/link.cfm?r=NHlypkI-Yq4UE0U0wWY3gQ~~&amp;pe=CxMPzH4cFK3f2Dr3Dh1wT_H5XokYtUZV_ti95vTg9EQzw0PorivNKtTRcf1VdPzzsD2E5fjx3Xhl6LuX4VaPjA~~&amp;t=bE6yjvdNwrCF3JyM4wJ3yg~~\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">altruism<\/a>. In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing might be conceptualized as an altruistic act that can be more or less effectively structured and developed by the organizational and institutional environment.&nbsp;<\/li><li>The now&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.mmsend74.com\/link.cfm?r=NHlypkI-Yq4UE0U0wWY3gQ~~&amp;pe=IAjSTDcUO-hAlzclgBB4P2C6KQHu-gQAPl26dR1eeghZt6NyAgQNdPbbejxPeB9HEfFlcFEYmxQ8L09Zh7jH7w~~&amp;t=bE6yjvdNwrCF3JyM4wJ3yg~~\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">classic article<\/a>&nbsp;&#8220;Social Conditions as Fundamental Causes of Disease,&#8221; which has been cited nearly 5,000 times since it was first published in 1995.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Click\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.mmsend74.com\/link.cfm?r=NHlypkI-Yq4UE0U0wWY3gQ~~&amp;pe=THs1DD77OeB53FD1Nc3pCSHpYaAlaIigNkn4YWE0s99mI1Fq6qyD1WlbITDSoqQcPNwm17bZo7UIrnNbZhqi7A~~&amp;t=bE6yjvdNwrCF3JyM4wJ3yg~~\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a> to\u00a0freely access the full collection of articles. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Crowd Sourced: Sociologists in the News on COVID-19<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p> Journalists are turning to sociologists to help them explain the\u00a0social dimensions of the current crisis. We have\u00a0created an open-access\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.mmsend74.com\/link.cfm?r=NHlypkI-Yq4UE0U0wWY3gQ~~&amp;pe=R38oON87ElHIwhyDMuipyncmSqHOIVQ0m_J9PY6PKMMJSbYb4iVu1F7DyA9OJy_k2opQBL9fdkUT5KEaYb4iIA~~&amp;t=bE6yjvdNwrCF3JyM4wJ3yg~~\" target=\"_blank\">spread sheet<\/a>\u00a0devoted to collecting and sharing information about these media mentions and media appearances. Please help spread the word about sociologists in the news by adding information about your own media appearances and\u00a0those you have seen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"> <strong>Crowd Sourced: COVID-19 Projects Initiated by Sociologists<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p> Sociologists are responding in creative ways to learn more about the pandemic and its consequences. They are collecting data, creating interdisciplinary research collaborations, and supporting their communities. We have\u00a0launched an open-access\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.mmsend74.com\/link.cfm?r=NHlypkI-Yq4UE0U0wWY3gQ~~&amp;pe=4VzRfPEq4aTUHOzEn4IRlhBV-GF70qhyD7bbjqvlLYtIMgEnsvijY9X46rIHzbc6ZILAC8WritOlODlOeysjFQ~~&amp;t=bE6yjvdNwrCF3JyM4wJ3yg~~\" target=\"_blank\">spread sheet<\/a>\u00a0devoted to collecting and sharing information about these projects. You&#8217;ll see that some initiatives are already listed.
