{"id":1299,"date":"2012-09-21T10:59:03","date_gmt":"2012-09-21T15:59:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thesocietypages.org\/editors\/?p=1299"},"modified":"2012-11-02T13:09:12","modified_gmt":"2012-11-02T18:09:12","slug":"feelin-the-feelin","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thesocietypages.org\/editors\/2012\/09\/21\/feelin-the-feelin\/","title":{"rendered":"Feelin&#8217; the Feelin&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I was delighted to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.startribune.com\/entertainment\/music\/170535716.html?refer=y\">read<\/a> that\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.thefeelin.com\/\">Nick &#8220;The Feelin'&#8221; Mrozinski<\/a>\u00a0landed a spot on Team Cee-Lo on NBC&#8217;s &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nbc.com\/the-voice\/artists\/nicholas-david\/\">The Voice<\/a>.&#8221;\u00a0I was fortunate to share billing with The Feelin&#8217; (a\/k\/a Nicholas David) on one of my all-time favorite\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/chrisuggen.blogspot.com\/2009\/05\/join-for-justice-pubcrim-event-on-may.html\">research presentations<\/a>\u00a0a few years back.<br \/>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.nbc.com\/assets\/video\/widget\/widget.html?vid=1417237\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><!--more-->TSP grad board member\/musician\/entrepreneur <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sarahlageson.com\/\">Sarah Lageson<\/a> set the whole thing up: why not combine a research release with a performance by an amazing musician and\u00a0a fundraiser for a worthy community organization? So I gave my first powerpoint presentation on the effects of low-level criminal records at the Downtime Bar. \u00a0It might seem strange, but the research paired perfectly with Mr. Mrozinski&#8217;s smart and soulful repertoire &#8212; as well as the strong Surly beer on tap at Downtime. I was nervous at the start of the talk, but loosened up once I got a &#8220;right on!&#8221; and head nod from The Feelin&#8217;.
