Sexual Harassment and other forms of gender inequality are also problems &#8212; perhaps even more so &#8212; for male-dominated, blue-collar workplaces. A recent\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2018\/02\/08\/sunday-review\/sexual-harassment-masculine-jobs.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">article<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in <em>The <\/em><\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">New York Times<\/span><\/i>\u00a0highlights gendered discrimination in\u00a0<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">workplaces like mines, car factories, and construction sites.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Sociologist <a href=\"http:\/\/www.abigailsaguy.com\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Abigail Saguy<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> argues that men often perceive less-feminine or lesbian women as &#8220;not fully women&#8221; and therefore as less threatening. On the other hand, men tend to harass more-feminine women more. And women who play along with sexist banter, still face negative labels, like &#8220;slut.&#8221;\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Saguy elaborates,<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cSexual harassment is often a way in which the men reaffirm women\u2019s femininity, and [put them] back in their place\u2026. At the same time, women will play up their femininity and flirt a little bit and play along with some of the stereotypes\u2026 to be accepted.\u201d<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For men in low-paying and dangerous jobs, these affirmations to their masculinity become key rewards, and challenges to their masculinity may heighten discrimination towards women.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cEven if they have to tolerate bad working conditions, the compensation is they were real men\u2026 then women were moving into these occupations, so what does that mean?
