Police have been able to locate videos of certain crews taunting other crews in the form of rap music. The lyrics don\u2019t necessarily name a victim or perpetrator but are suggestive of the circumstances of crimes. Horan points to lyrics from one of the Flock crew\u2019s raps, that was posted to YouTube, as an example:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Better take your last breath, yeah.<\/p>\n<p>Next time I see your name comin\u2019<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s at the [\u00a0 ? ]<\/p>\n<p>And I didn&#8217;t really want to do it<\/p>\n<p>But I had to<\/p>\n<p>Put myself in your shoes<\/p>\n<p>This [ ? ] I\u2019d be mad too\u2026<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Horan asserts that, while one rap video isn\u2019t going to be enough to bring down a crew, rap lyrics do and should operate as a component of an investigation.<\/p>\n<p>Sociologist Charis Kubrin tells a different side of the story through the experiences of aspiring rapper Tosin. Tosin\u00a0was found guilty of making terroristic threats based on the &#8220;incriminating evidence&#8221; of his rap lyrics.
