{"id":1348,"date":"2014-06-27T19:44:54","date_gmt":"2014-06-27T19:44:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thesocietypages.org\/families\/?p=33"},"modified":"2014-06-27T19:44:54","modified_gmt":"2014-06-27T19:44:54","slug":"welcome","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thesocietypages.org\/ccf\/2014\/06\/27\/welcome\/","title":{"rendered":"Welcome!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Greetings from the <a href=\"https:\/\/contemporaryfamilies.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Council on Contemporary Families<\/a>, and welcome to our new blog!<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft  wp-image-34\" src=\"https:\/\/thesocietypages.org\/families\/files\/2014\/06\/CCF-Logo-hi-res-300x118.jpg\" alt=\"CCF Logo hi res\" width=\"247\" height=\"97\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re delighted to join this community at <em>The Society Pages<\/em> as we create more online opportunities for scholars and clinicians to share grounded, individual reflections on research, open dialogue for questions and debates, as well as to share ideas for instruction and for clinical practice.<\/p>\n<p>The new CCF blog, <a href=\"https:\/\/thesocietypages.org\/families\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Families as They Really Are<\/em><\/a> (like our <a href=\"http:\/\/books.wwnorton.com\/books\/978-0-393-93278-2\/\" target=\"_blank\">CCF-edited book<\/a> of the same name) presents a range of views from researchers who aim to provide the most current and best information about American families. The blog features posts on teaching family topics, as well as op-ed style essays about key issues that arise.<\/p>\n<p>Our blog adds to CCF\u2019s outreach of well-established brief reports, fact sheets, and symposia\u2014the ones people often see covered in the press. For the past 18 years, CCF has taken the lead in sharing carefully vetted research in our <a href=\"https:\/\/contemporaryfamilies.org\/category\/publications\/brief-reports\/\" target=\"_blank\">brief reports<\/a> which we send out to news media. Now, we will also post new briefs at <a href=\"https:\/\/thesocietypages.org\/ccf\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>The Society Pages<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>At CCF, we are united by a passion to give the press, public, and students access to solid research and data-based answers about how and why families today are changing, what needs and challenges they face, and how these needs can best be met.<\/p>\n<p>For more CCF updates between blog posts, like us on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/contemporaryfamilies\" target=\"_blank\">Facebook<\/a> and follow us on <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CCF_Families\" target=\"_blank\">Twitter<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Greetings from the Council on Contemporary Families, and welcome to our new blog!
