I am currently teaching an accelerated 7 week online sociology of deviance course and I have been worrying about the unusual lack of student participation in the discussion board activities. I have been second guessing the course content and readings despite the fact that I did reduce the content and readings from the usual 14 week course.

Students have not as yet been griping but I foresee complaints once they start accumulating zero grades based on a lack of any discussion board posts.

Now I will share your wonderful story with them :)
