Society has achieved alot in the last 70years (post ww2), however much more could have been done. Poverty still a major curse on mankind. Ethnic, religious extremism among youth with university education, really worrying. We could do much better if humanity comes first.

LOL, it does seem that sociology is a glass-half-empty around here with the blame game etc. But don't lose hope and do consider accentuating the positive things modern society has achieved.

We're healthier than ever and longevity is up up up.

Tolerance is up in many parts of the world.

In-groups and religions are losing adherents (although they do seem to have the staying power of a wad of gum in your hair sometimes).

While we still must suffer tiring and childish sexual provocations all over society and admit that "sex sells", there is a torrent of understanding about the importance equality between the sexes that is even extending into the ever-backwards middle east.

Diversity is becoming increasingly accepted as a strong positive influence on society.

Distrust of government is at an all time high (I like it when we distrust and stay vigilant).

Democracy and private enterprise are extending around the world!

Life isn't like the look on that dog's face...
