Maybe it was bad grammar. I’m not a native speaker. I meant that if the sexes here were reversed, this would be considered sexist and degrading for women.

And I meant that the males of that species are not wothless. (the “they” was in fact misleading). Does that make sense?

Just imagine, the females of a species were described as “basically worthless”. They are not worthless. If they were they would not exist. You could interpret the same facts for example as a great sacrifice of the male to his loved one. Or just not humanize animals altogether. Especially fish. We have to stop empowering women by degrading men. And stop it now!
