People of color, particularly black people, have overwhelmingly voted Democrat for about half a century or more (prior to which, the ability the vote was.....tenuous, and the parties had little resemblance to today's parties in both values and following). For some reason (hint: the modern Republican party's following is based almost entirely on prejudice). The percentage of people who voted for Obama would not be too terribly different if he was the most lily white man on the planet. Black people also overwhelmingly voted for Bill Clinton. Despite jokes that he was 'the first black president,' black voters were all pretty aware of his race and predominantly voted for him.

The percentage of blacks who voted for Obama in 2008 was 95%. I call that "whopping". But it doesn't fit the narrative.
Of course, we now know how Obama runs a country. In 2008, all we knew was he said he would be good at it. What does this have to do with race?

I wonder what percentage of blacks are voting for Obama? Is it a "whopping" percentage? And if it's a larger percentage than the percentage of whites voting for Romney, then why isn't this "whopping" percentage cited while the other one is?

What doesn't get said is often more interesting and revealing that what is.

This looks very straightforward as it is, but I wonder how it would look like if you would control the income bracket (or possibly even better some more comprehensive measurements of wealth/class). There obviously is a divide per se, but I'm wondering how much of it is genuinely whites vs. non-whites and how much is the rich vs. poor divide combined with the fact that for structural and historical reasons whites tend to be more wealthy.
