Nope, and neither do people who work the tall privilege for all it's worth...my former boss was a tall woman (around 5'10"), and would frequently talk about how she used her height for power, and considered her mission in life to teach other tall women to do the same (whilst looking down her nose at me because I'm short, and therefore not worthy of her mentoring). Btw she was a terrible, terrible boss.

I married a short man and I think it's awesome. I don't have to strain my neck in weird positions to kiss him.

I think cee makes a good point.

The customer who is not tall and has a beard (beards are VERY fashionable amongst men at the moment) is the 'hero' or the 'subject' of the ad. He passes his credit test and gets the TV. He's a winner!

The three 'good credit scores' are *objectified* as men. They are not 'people' they are 'numbers'. Yes, the 'bad credit score' is a negative portrayal of a 'failed' objectified man.

But the analysis is sorely lacking.

I'm glad you wrote about this. I despise this commercial. The smartest man I know - my dad - was a small man, I married a small man, and my son, as you might expect, is small. They get so much crap for it. I think it's getting better, as my dad seemed to care the most, while my son cares the least. Commercials like this don't help at all, though.

Does it matter? Lisa didn't say she would or wouldn't pursue the shorter man. Did you completely miss the point or are you just being obtuse for your own amusement?

Honest answer?

The customer / guy at the computer on the sample screen of the video. The number-men don't look entirely human, mostly due to facial expressions and posing, and are therefore not realistically attractive.

Which I would rate most aesthetically appealing is a different answer, but that's not what you asked.

This is why sociology is more then just feminist study. This video goes beyond just gender altogether. We're looking at the social struggles between short vs tall, bald vs haired, and muscular vs chubby. We're also indirectly looking at class conflicts, seeing as how all of those above struggles are a metaphor for a bad credit rating.

Interestingly the solution to all our problems is apparently a new TV. Probably one of the most powerful tools for reinforcing the body images that are the cause of our trouble to begin with.

Total drag?

Question for heterosexual women and homosexual men. All things being equal—save for their physical appearances—which of these three men would you consider yourself most (and least) likely to pursue romantically?
